As
they drove home, Nina couldn't stop thinking about how
exciting it will be to dance on the Town Hall's huge
stage (she remembered it because she had been to see
a pantomime there last year). There would be lights
and loud music and costumes and an audience to clap
and cheer.

Nina
couldn't wait to tell her friends at school the next day,
she knew they would be so jealous. Many of them went to other
dancing schools in the area but none had been in a show yet.
That
afternoon, as Mrs Briggs was teaching, Nina found herself
day dreaming and staring out the window. She remembered this
was just how excited she had been when her parents had bought
her a leotard for her birthday and had said she could go to
dance lessons. She couldn't believe that although she had
been learning for less than a year she was going to dance
in the show.
At
her next dance lesson Miss Hunt spoke to Nina and the class.
"As
you all know, the school show is not far away at all, so we
had better get started on a dance for you to perform. I think
your family and friends might get a little bit bored seeing
you do your exercises on stage!"
So
they set to work and Miss Hunt began to teach them the dance
they would perform. Nina was determined to practise it really
hard and make her parents proud of her.
